Globally Anchored, Locally Rooted – G&O Maritime Group Appoints New VP of Sales in Northeast Asia

At G&O Maritime Group (GOMG), we take pride in being a strategic partner for the global maritime industry. With our broad product portfolio, in-depth customer knowledge, and an organisation that serves as a solid backbone, we distinguish ourselves from younger brands in the market. We are a “House of Brands” – but also consider ourselves a “House of Knowledge,” where our extensive experience and relationships create value for our customers.

Our mission is clear: we must be a global company with a strong local presence. By combining our international expertise with deep-rooted local relationships, we can deliver the best solutions to our customers. This approach strengthens their competitiveness and drives the maritime industry forward.

With the announcement of Mr René Dalgaard Kristensen as Head of Group Sales in Northeast Asia, we strengthen our local presence in China, Korea, and Japan.

“Asia is a key market for us, and we are intensifying our presence in China, Korea, and Japan to be closer to our customers and agents. Access to shipyards is crucial in this industry, and strong relationships — often formed over decades between old friends and university classmates — are vital for success. Our goal is to strengthen these connections and enhance our local presence to provide even better service and support”, RDK says.

“By acting as a bridge between our teams in Denmark and China, I aim to ensure that knowledge, experience, and cultural understanding flow seamlessly across the organisation. This approach helps us deliver our expertise more effectively to customers while fostering a more connected and efficient internal structure”, RDK explains and elaborates “One of our strengths is delivering a complete GOMG package, which helps customers achieve a stronger sustainability profile while reducing environmental impact. We think holistically when engaging with customers, ensuring that our entire product range is presented in an integrated manner”.

“Sustainability is a major focus in the maritime industry and a driving force behind everything we do. One of the key challenges we address is helping customers understand why they should replace their existing lubrication systems in the main engines. The answer lies in long-term sustainability gains: reduced CO2 emissions, improved engine efficiency, and a lower environmental footprint. In fact, our complete product package enables customers to make a meaningful impact while enhancing operational efficiency”, RDK finishes.

With a robust organisation, a unique product portfolio, and a focused strategy for Asia, we are well-positioned to take the next steps toward an even stronger global presence.
